What i call home

Penny, blueberry picking last summer
Last night i learned how to make button holes on the sewing machine! It was easier than i thought and now i wonder why in the world i waited so long! A whole new skill has been opened up for me. :-)  I made a long button up shirt and it turned out perfect.

Chester and Ferdinand, a year ago!

The best part about making your own clothes is that they can be tailored to your exact body type.  The worst part is that you have to cut out everything on a flat, clean surface. Having a dog and two cats that absolutely LOVE to be involved in every aspect of my life makes that quite a challenge.

Me, my husband phil, and these three adorable fur balls make up my little family. We live in a house in portland that is always filled with people. We dwell in The House of Numbers with four other lovely portlanders and share a lot of meals and music together. This is my home.  And there is never a dull moment.  Our life here is ever changing, people coming and going, couch stayers, spontaneous bbqs, and random outbursts of music.  One guy brews beer, another plays and repairs all kinds of musical instruments, there are a few baristas, a few students, a few recycling bins, many bikes, a VW bug, and a lot of love.  We try to be more of a family than roommates and are in constant conversation of what exactly that means.

This is where my inspiration begins.
